Phuket - Phang Nga Bay - Andaman Sea
Island of Thailand 12/2016
The highlight of our trip to Thailand was Phuket, an Island of Thailand, away from the crowds and was fortunate to find Captain Mark and booked for our adventure in Phuket in the U.S.A. (he made sure there were only a few people at the islands we visited); we snorkeled at beautiful Krabi - Phanak Island, then Kayaking in the nature reserve of Phang Nga Bay seeing the fish farms; then passing the James Bond island (Daniel was excited about this "The Man with the Golden Gun, and the crew gave him a gun, for a pic with me - lol) on our way to Kho Pany, the ancient cave paintings and hiking thru a long narrow cave with flashlights; we saw a beautiful lagoon and one can only see it at certain times because of the tides; then the Muslim Fishing village (interesting soccer story) of Panyee island and more swimming at Kho Yao Noi island........on a speed boat with less than 18 people - AWESOME is the word - Phuket
Captain Mark (he was a captain in Australia) has the best tours prob. and surpassed all my expectations taking us to the places that were not crowded.....best island tours ever
Amazing to see limestone jutting out from the oceans (only few places in the world like Thailand, Cambodia & China etc. I think)
Krabi- no crowds - planned by our Captain!
Muslim Fishing Village on Panyee Island in Phang Nga Bay - my interest was the floating soccer field - if you love/loved soccer, it's an interesting story - check it out on utube and all the trophies the soccer players won!
Muslim Fishing Village built on stakes on Panyee Island in Phang Nga Bay - lunch with our boat passengers
Next we went kayaking in the mangrove forests of Phang Nga Bay & another island on the right, Daniel is ready to take a snooze!
Formation of rocks inside the cave and it glitters from the calcium......
Entering the long narrow cave from Phang Nga Bay - Hong Island. It is like a dream come true for adventurers and nature lovers. It is one of Thailand’s most beautiful islands; I loved this adventure as there were only a few visitors.
Its name is based on eroded caves, which lie in the centre of the island. Well hidden, it shelters a lake with small sea access. The only way inside can be passed during a short time slot (of about 1 hour) and only once a day.
When the tides allow to, one can enter inside the Hong Island by canoe or wading thru the water like we did and it gets to about knee high.
Otherwise, if there is low tide, the caves are dry and sharp-edged stones as well as mud block the entrance. At high tide the access is completely under water.
This little natural wonder makes it even more spectacular.
Another small island on Phang Nga Bay left; the water was a little green prob. because of the limestone and to the left was a cave with a few monkeys in it conveyed to me by some guy who came out of the cave. I did not venture by myself since everyone except myself and the boat crew were awake, while the others took a snooze after the fruit/drinks and another couple and I were the only ppl in the beautiful warm ocean.
The boat crew took care of all our needs for the entire day!
