P A R I S, France

Paris; stopped there for a few days en route from Cape Town, S. Africa. Stay: and stayed at The Marriot in Paris; Things to do: It was cold, and I walked through the park and one has to be on the lookout for swindlers. I sensed someone was following me and looked around, and yes, a young guy was following, Soo I started to walk really fast, he was catching up, so I started to jog, and then run as fast as I could to the Eiffel Tower which was lit up and breathed a sigh of relief, as he vanished when I looked back - low and behold, I outran him - quite a scare.
Then visited the Eiffel Tower which was awesome, I ate the Parisian crepes and loved it. Took a cruise along the river; Next day I visited The Louvre Museum, which is the world's most-visited place, also a historic landmark in Paris. It has best-known works of art, including the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo which I was able to see ( a long line to see the Mona Lisa.

River Cruise

Toulouse-Lautrec, who admired the French Cancan dancers was famous for his artworks depicting the life of this Parisian cabaret - I took this pic. inside the Moulin Rouge - prob. the best show I've ever seen!

2019 - Business Trip: Traveled to Normandy from Paris on another trip en route to Africa (flight is too long, so best to stay in Paris or Amsterdam I think to recover). Giverny in Normandy - Claude Monet's Garden - it was not in bloom, but I enjoyed the town, visiting the church, his burial site, and looking around his haven!
